About This Artist

Vineeta Muni is a commercial artist, nature photographer, an avid painter and one of the first women in the world to have trekked the entire length of the Himalayas.

She completed her Basic and Advance Training in mountaineering from the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi. and has been a trained mountaineer and also an instructor for 40 years.

She has participated in 28 expeditions to the Himalayas having climbed 17 peaks, 12 of them first ascents. She is one of the few women mountaineers in India to make the first ascent of a 7000 m. peak, – having climbed Chamsen (7017m), on an Indian British Exploratory Expedition in 2013. In May 2011, she was featured as a nature photographer by “Better Photography” Magazine.

She has exhibited her photographs of the Himalayas, at the National Centre of Performing Arts com, Mumbai “Himalayan Mystique” in aid of “Rebuild Ladakh” fund to assist the flood affected people of Ladakh in March 2011.
